Like there's always been
Sometimes you get something you want but it's still
not really yours
separated by a distance through that your
outstretched arms desperately try to grasp
but only time will tell whether your desires end up
clutched snugly in your fists.
Sometimes you feel it's time to embrace what life has
on offer at the moment and just savor it innocently like a child
but at the back of your mind you know it's an inferno waiting to ignite
at the slightest of sparks and before you know it you're burnt down
and scorched to the ground.
It's all good if you maintain a safe distance for a little while more
but the whole situation just jumps at you like a pack of hungry wolves
demanding your fateful decision of fight or flight.
It's so hard sometimes. It really is.
"When I came to visit you,
That's when I knew, That I could never have you,
I knew that before you did,
Still I'm the one who's stupid,
And there's this burning, Like there's always been,
I've never been so alone, And I've never been so alive"
-Motorcycle Drive By by Third Eye Blind-
This gem of a song is 10 years old and I regret not coming to
know of it earlier as it just strikes right at the heart and when
you scream your lungs out along to it, the whole meaning
behind the song is encapsulated and appreciated.
So I hope you do what's right in your heart and mind and above
everything, try not to regret it.
Here's to you Noelle.

Footy ecstasy & musical porn
The news of a 10-man Arsenal defeating Portmouth convincingly over the weekend was sweet ecstasy for my ears and a superb way to cap off a splendid week. That my heroes accomplished the feat with Flams at right back which is totally off his usual position and Gilberto at centre-back during the most of the second half is a sign of things to come, hopefully. Over at Anfield, it was a joyous day as well as the home team just demolished the poor Derby rams six to nothing and total supremacy was the theme for the night. I'm sure my mate Steppah must have been wetting himself over the sheer class on display and as a footy fanatic myself I totally understand that feeling and am happy for him. On things closer to home, the yellow and navy boys aka the Central Coast Mariners whom i support produced a sensational first-half display of Aussie soccer to down newbies Wellington Phoenix 3-0 and notch up two straight wins in as many games and are currently five points ahead of their nearest rivals. What a start to the Hyundai A-League. Fit again Nik Mrdja who netted a brace was the hero of the night and showed everyone just what he has to offer but last season's leading marksman Adam Kwasnik scored an absolute cracker as well to end a four-game winless streak at home.
Good old Malaysia turned 50 last Friday and celebrations were held everywhere to commemorate the momentous event. Over at Newy the Malaysian society threw a grand dinner and it turned out to be a great night with patriotism and muhibbahness available in copious amounts all around. Everyone looked hot that night and many pictures were taken which I'll post up later. The next day a whole throng of Newyans embarked on a mass exodus down to Sydney to attend the Malam Gala Merdeka which was hosted by UNSW but in the end only about 5 from 24 ended up attending as the rest got lost and immersed in the attractions of Sydney and "there was something else here but I had to edit it cause of a personal request lol". We ended up dropping by for awhile only and eventually got tired as well with the boringness on display and left for greener pastures in the city. Brought Hezrie and Brian around who have never been to the Harbour Bridge and Opera House and along the way we came across two random happy drunkards who were throwing themselves off Circular Quay into the ocean for a swim with just their boxers on. Bondi beckoned the next day and obviously we fell for its charm and ended up chilling on Australia's most famous beach with sun, sand and babes everywhere. The babes were the most attractive of course with some topless as well. Ahh.
The sun is really starting to come out here as well and it's just lovely as by my reckoning it's heaps better than the cold prolly cause of my Malaysian skin.
Up next..music news! This year has been pretty damn good in terms of album releases with notable stuff from The Shins, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Bloc Party, Arcade Fire, Modest Mouse, Wilco, Ash, The Coral and Rooney all out already earlier this year and it's just starting to get better. Rilo Kiley and The New Pornographers just released their new albums a week ago and they are excellent music from my currently much-loved bands. But if there's not good enough already, heaps more are yet to come! Hard-Fi and Athlete's are out today and KT Tunstall is next week. James Blunt is the week after and the most eagerly anticipated release by none other than Jimmy Eat World is on the 15th of October, titled Chase The Light. And the ultimate upcoming ones are Coldplay, Third Eye Blind and Nada Surf's early next year!! Woohoo holy heck if this ain't musical porn i don't know what it is. Oh well prolly it's only me getting all worked-up. Anyways the Evermore concert last Thurs was a blast and this coming Thurs is Thirsty Merc's and i know 7 people who will be attending which is quite a large number considering the lack of interest in music among my friends. Hard-Fi just announced a tour in Oct and Ill be definitely up for it.
Just realised I've been typing a fair bit and prolly that's enough for now.
What a fresh start to a new week. Yeeha
